Thanks for joining the NUC community.
I understand you are integrating AHCI drivers onto your windows installation disk.
The link where you are getting AHCI drivers is correct. However, I am not sure if you are slipstreaming the F6 driver (AHCI driver) on your thumb drive.
See the following links below, provides documentation about how to slipstream drivers on windows installation disks using different tools.
I am not trying to slipstream the installation of Windows, I am just trying to install it on the NUC. Since there is no DVD Drive, I have used the microsoft USB tool to create a bootable drive to install it but after the installation wizard starts, before asking to partition the drive, it does not find any drive and ask me for a driver that is missing. I put those driver on a second usb drive, loaded in the installation menu but an error message says that the driver are not good.
The same process has no problem with Windows 7.
Thanks for the information. However, Windows 7 installation is working on this computer, this means, this is not an issue with the NUC. This is an operating system issue.
Your next step would be slipstream the disk, create an image and use Microsoft tool to create bootable installation.
So you are saying that there are problem installing Windows 8.1 on this Intel NUC ?
I am following the official Microsoft guide using the official Microsoft tool with the official Microsoft ISO to do the installation of the OS on the NUC, since it does not have have a disc drive. Are there any known issue with the SATA driver and Windows 8.1 at this point? Thanks
