I'm trying to change my resolution to a lower one that's between the native res 3840x2160 and 1920x1080. I'd like to use 2560x1440. I'd also like to try other refresh rates. For some reason though, ANY numbers I put in there result in an error saying I've exceeded my maximum bandwidth. I know that's not true since all my inquiries are lower than native. So I want to know what I can do to resolve this. Is this option not allowed anymore on laptops with switchable graphics?

Hello Derek712, thank you very much for contacting us through Intel Communities. I understand you are not being able to change the resolutions on your laptop.
I would recommend you to update the graphics driver to the latest version available. You can download the driver for your graphics controller from the following link: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu Intel® Driver Update Utility
We always recommend using the latest drivers provided directly by your motherboard or Original Equipment Manufacturer. However, you may try our drivers and force the installation by performing a manual procedure. Please check the following URL: http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm Graphics Drivers — Computer manufacturer graphics driver detected
If the behavior persisted, it will be necessary to contact your system manufacture.
