Hi Joe, thank you very much for contacting us through Intel Communities and sorry for the inconvenience you have faced with the NUC.
I cannot explain why the system behaves that way after you a BIOS updated
We can try to roll back to the previous BIOS version 0026, and hopefully everything starts working as before.
In order to install this BIOS it will be necessary to use the BIOS recovery method. Please follow these steps.

I confirm the issue described in the initial post. Power ON does not work using infrared remote control on 0027 bios.
- reproduced the issue when trying to resume from S3 sleep (did not try other power states)
- used a Logitech Harmony remote with a Microsoft MediaCenter SE profile
- power OFF works fine
- rolled back to 0026 bios - everything works fine.
Thanks for letting us know.
I am having a similar but slightly different problem also related to this new firmware load. I have OpenElec running on D34010WYK now for the past few weeks and working great with my Harmony remote using the Media Center PC profile. Power on and off no problems.... my only issue was sporadically the NUC would reboot after power down.
So I updated to FW0027 and now I can't power on via IR with either the discrete "power toggle" or "power on" commands. What's worse for me is that even after rolling back to FW0026 it is still broken. I tried defaulting all settings and I still can't get it to work.
Voip-ninja, I’m sorry to hear that even though you installed BIOS v0026; the problem persists.
Since that option worked for the previous user, it could be that your problem is related to the hardware; therefore I suggest you to replace the unit.

I can confirm I have the same problem as Joe with the NUC D54250WYK. PowerToggle command works but the Power On or Power Off does not. I am on the latest Bios (v0027).
Please try to do a BIOS recovery installing BIOS version 0026.
If the issue persisted it will be necessary to replace the unit. If the issue persist it will be necessary to replace the unit. Please submit a web ticket to request an RMA-
I just updated to BIOS 0041 and this issue is still there.
Power off and Power toggle works, but Power on has not been working since Bios 0027.
This is not a very uncommon problem, see the following threads:
Do you have an ETA on this?
Did you try the BIOS version 0037, this BIOS version seems to fix some problems with CIR?
You can download it at the following link:
If you are with the latest BIOS version I recommend rolling back to this version with a BIOS recovery to avoid any issues.
If this does not work we will need to wait for a new BIOS version to help solve this problem.
I upgraded to the 0041-bios and still have this issue. Do you mean I should downgrade to 0037?
