I am sorry you are having this problem but I will do my best to help you finding the solution for your problem.
Based on the information I have found, I thinks it’s important to say that this motherboard supports up to Windows Vista and Windows 7 support is As-is which means that the Use of Intel drivers with older operating systems that Microsoft* has discontinued or does not fully support should be considered AS-IS in respect to features, function, debugging and usability with recently released Intel® Desktop Boards and Intel will no longer provide technical support for them. Here you can check the Operating System compatibility:
It is also important to mention that your system must comply with certain requirements to have a RAID configuration. So I would like you to double check that first:
- Contains a supported Intel chipset.
- Includes a single SATA hard drive.
- RAID Chipset mode must be enabled in the BIOS.
- Motherboard BIOS must include the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology option ROM.
- Intel® Rapid Storage Technology must be loaded.
- A partition that does not take up the entire capacity of the hard drive (4-5MB of free space is
Please follow the instructions provided on the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology user guide. If you follow all the instructions there and you are still having problems, I would say the Operating System compatibility may be limiting the feature and may be necessary to test a fully supported Operating System.
Here you have the user guide:
Here you have the latest driver you can install for RAID:
I've read through your suggestions but I'm still stuck on what to do.
My system complies with all 6 requirements however #4, my motherboard BIOS uses the Intel Matrix Storage Manager option ROM v126.96.36.1999. Do I not need to update it to Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology v188.8.131.524? If so, how do I do that?
The Intel® Matrix Storage Technology is the same software as Intel® Rapid Storage Technology but the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology is the latest or let’s call it an update so You can install this software provided before. This software also supports the controller you have.
You can get the latest Intel® Rapid Storage Technology for your controller at this link:
I downloaded the software however what is other requirement, the driver for "F6 Driver Diskettes"?
Download the driver (STOR_allOS_184.108.40.2064_PV.exe) and one of the following F6 Driver Diskettes (depending on your operating system):
I have a 64-bit system therefore I downloaded the F6 driver diskette for Windows 7 (64-bit editions)
In your case is not necessary to do the F6 driver step because you are using Windows 7. This needs to be done when having XP or lower Operating System but on Windows 7 or higher systems the F6 drivers are already embedded in the Operating System.
