I am sorry you are having problems with the driver installation but let me help you.
I noticed you are trying to install the version 2618 but that is a very old version. You can get the latest version for your graphics controller at the following link:

So I followed the steps for the manual installation and afterwards, I got this message:
The best driver software for your device is already installed.
Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date.
Does that mean the "Display Driver Intel HD Graphics Driver has stopped running and has successfully recovered..." is a different problem and require something else?
That message means that the Operating System thinks you already have the latest driver installed which is not correct. I recommend you to contacting your Computer Manufacture for them to help you providing special drivers that your system can accept and work fine.
How do I go about in contacting them and what should I say? Is there a number somewhere that I can contact them directly?
