I have an acer laptop that has the silly little habit of randomly dimming my display and completely ruining contrast while on battery. I have figured out the culprit for this is the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. I can go to power options and disable the "power saving technology" and the problem is solved-at least, until I restart or shut down my computer. Every time I start up again, this program magically re-enables the power saving technology and my problem returns. How can I permanently disable this completely asinine feature? Thanks for your help.

Hello DavidAA, I'm sorry to hear you are having this kind of issues.
I was able to test this on my laptop, and I did not experience the same behavior. In other words Power Saving technology stayed disable on it.
Would you please provide me information about your system?
