    Centrino-N 6235 no longer works after Galileo update (and a fix)

      I updated my Galileo to the release from last week, both firmware and the OS image on the SD card, and now my WiFi card is no longer recognized. Here's what dmesg has to say:

      [   61.840618] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0002)

      [   61.846713] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: enabling bus mastering

      [   61.847037] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: irq 45 for MSI/MSI-X

      [   61.890855] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: request for firmware file 'iwlwifi-6000g2b-6.ucode' failed.

      [   61.899449] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: no suitable firmware found!

      This is an Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 card. It worked under the previous image. A quick glance at /lib/firmware shows that the required firmware is, indeed, missing:

      LICENCE.iwlwifi_firmware
      iwlwifi-135-6.ucode
      iwlwifi-6000g2a-6.ucode

      I was able to copy the needed ucode file (after grabbing it from the iwlwifi archive at Linux Wireless) into /lib/firmware to restore WiFi support, but this is the sort of thing that should not have been broken in the first place.
