Intel HD Graphics 2000 HDMI output problem

Hi,

I've got an Acer X1930 desktop with an i3-2120 3.30 GHz CPU. OS is Windows 7 64-bit. A motherboard has both VGA and HDMI connectors. I'm getting a decent 1920x1200 image out of VGA, but would like to go digital all the way nevertheless. The display has DVI-D input. Using a brand new HDMI-DVI cable results in no image, as if HDMI output wasn't active at all. Is there an option hidden somewhere to turn HDMI on? I've also tried lowering the resolution, but to no avail.

Hello TKein, thanks for sharing this information with us. I would to inform you that Intel recommends using direct cables, no adapters because the usage of adapters may impose restriction while getting screen detected.

However, we have received comments from customers saying that they were able to have video when using a DVI to HDMI cable.

My recommendation at this point will be to test another cable, may be a better quality cable.

Interesting...I wonder what the deal behind screen detection problems is while using an adapter. Judging by common sense, it would appear that as the pin carrying hot plug signal is - supposedly - correctly connected through the adapter there should be no detection issues.

Oh well, I'm going to have to do further troubleshooting to pinpoint the problem source in my system. I'll _try_ to remember to report back.

Please try using another DVI to HDMI cable.
