I understand you have some issues with USB 3.0 and external drives.
At this stage, I recommend removing and reinstalling USB 3.0 drivers from control panel. The latest driver is listed below:
Please make sure to test different USB 3.0 devices as it may be compatibility issues with hard drive enclosure.
Also, try customized drivers from your computer manufacturer to isolate an issue with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) drivers.

I tried with both the Intel driver, v188.8.131.52 (which gives me a bluescreen on first restart only) and what Dell provides, v. 184.108.40.206 as their latest. Same result with both.
I have some other USB3 hdd enclosures using the ASMedia G11-ASM1051 chip, and copying to these seems to work fine. So I'm thinking compatibility issue with that ARM MB86C301B chip. Anything more info I can provide?
I have a disconnection error on one USB3 port only, but that looks like a contact & cable issue, as it works better (external drive disappears seldom) with another type of USB3 cable and no issue at all on same port with USB2 cable and USB2 hdd enclosures.
Hi again, I've been in contact with the distributor of these external enclosures and they are aware of this issue. They did however not know if or when a fix is coming and if the fix is needed in the Intel driver or the enclosure firmware.
Hopefully this is on the known issues list at Intel and it can be fixed soon!
Thanks for sharing this compatibility information. Please check with Dell for any BIOS update that may help on this matter.
