Yes there are Intel Core i7-4770k CPUs that did not came with a fan heat sink, you can determine the CPU if it has a bundled fan or not by checking its product code, ex. BX0000I74770K, BXC00000I74770K, BXF00000I74770K. The i7-4770K that dont have fan heat sink has a product code that starts with BXF, on my examples, its the last product code that is fanless.

looking at these links some said its packaging is oem in a box some say its retail . as you see the case is lost .
am not risking buying that small oem box
maybe someone from Microsoft can make a change by telling us this . i post on lots if forums and no one knows anything about this
story lol
google it you wont find a proper statement at Intel web it say there is 2 editions retail and tray
if i was in intel place i would clear this matter .

maybe this link will help you http://ark.intel.com/products/75123/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz# @ordering/ http://ark.intel.com/products/75123/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz# @ordering That page tells if your processor is boxed or tray/OEM (oem cpu's product number starts with CM not BX) and if fan or fanless. Its the product code that you need if you want to know what kind of processor is posted in online shops.
