    Manually editing a kernel module

      Hi everyone,

My group at Intel needs to modify a specific kernel module (stmmac under the STMicro Ethernet MAC).  I'm using Alexander's writeup on modifying the kernel (Re: Building an linux image and modify the kernel -  Answered) and have determined that the file we need to edit (dwmac1000_dma.c) resides in two lolecations in my yocto_build directory:

      /home/matt/meta-clanton_v0.7.5/yocto_build/tmp/work/i586-poky-linux/linux-libc-headers/3.8-r0/linux-3.8/drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac1000_dma.c

      /home/matt/meta-clanton_v0.7.5/yocto_build/tmp/work/clanton-poky-linux/linux-yocto-clanton/3.8-r0/linux/drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac1000_dma.c

Which file is the proper one for me to edit before I rebuild the kernel?

      Thanks!

      Matt
