Hello Geodomus, I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your new NUC; however I will be more than happy to assist you on this issue.
I would need to get some product information, in order to check that every component is compatible.
Please let have the complete model number of the memory and the SSD you are using?
Which operating system do you want to install?
IAny other device connected to the NUC? Keyboard? Mouse?monitor?
The Memory is a Kingston KVR16S11/4.
The SSD is an Intel SSDMCEAC120B3
I had removed both of them in order to get it to boot, as well as all peripherals (keyboard, TV via HDMI), nothing worked.
Geodomus, this specific NUC experienced some memory support changes. At the beginning, this product used to support RAM of 1066 MHz, but on BIOS version 0046, the memory reference code was updated in order to meet Microsoft Windows 8.1 requirements. This new memory code no longer supports 1066 MHz memory modules.
Since your NUC is a brand new product, it could be running the original BIOS version; therefore, it is still supporting 1066MHz. It would be necessary to get at least 1 memory stick (1066MHz 1.35V), for you can perform a BIOS update until you reach version 0046.
Then you will be able to use a 1600 MHz memory RAM. It MUST be a 1.35v memory or it will not function.
The memory you are reporting, is 1600 MHz 1.5v.
Thanks for taking the time, Sylvia. What i don't understand, though, is, why the NUC didn't even boot without any ram. Like not even give back any beep or LED code as any normal PC would. It would just shut down again.
Geodomus, memory would be necessary even to access the BIOS. If you turn on the NUC without memory, the device should give a 3 led code. It won't post, it won't boot.
At this point, since the memory required to at least access the BIOS needs to be 1066 MHz and must be 1.35V, I would recommend you to get only 1 stick. you may be able to borrow one, just to do a BIOS update.
As you stated, it should give a 3 led code.
The device doesn't even do that. There's no led code no nothing.
