I'm trying to upgrade my Dell Vostro 430 with a second drive Seagate Barracuda 3TB ST3000DM001 drive. It is currently showing only about 746 gig.
I looked around the Seagate site and apparently I need to update my Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series SATA AHCI Controller driver. It is currently 184.108.40.2064 from Mar 3/10 but from what I read on Seagate's site, I need at least 10.1 but cannot find it here.
When I followed the directions from the Seagate site to Intel's site, I only found information relating to RAID drivers, not regular SATA drives. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out which drivers I need to download and install?
I did install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology utility but it's Manage button only allows me to see information. The drive is listed and indicates 2862 GB but under Win7ProSP1 Computer Management the drive is currently only 746 GB.
