    Intel NUC 2820-Round Two

OK, about to send back my 2820, doesn't boot. In talking with the warranty guy, he said the ram had to be 1066. I thought it clocked down 1333 or 1600 to 1066. Crucial's advertised 2820 guaranteed compatible RAM is 1600. Can an Intel techie confirm before I send mine back? I'm using PNY 1600 1.35 v DDR3.

      Thanks!

          Jett,

My understanding was that (as ironic as it seems) the memory HAD to be 1333 or 1600 (low power, so 1.35v) but the 2820 would run it at 1066.

I'll confirm with the NUC team.  What memory do you have?  I can cross-check it for compatibility.

          Thanks.

            Jett,

I just confirmed with the NUC team that 1066, 1333, and 1600 memory should all work but will run at 1066 regardless.  The confusion (for me at least) was that since the memory has to be low power (i.e. 1.35v) you're not likely to find 1066 memory that will work.

I recommend checking your memory's model number against the compatibility list as not all memory is fully compatible or tested.  I've never tried PNY memory in mine.

            Thanks.

I changed the memory, finally got it running. Will describe my experience in another post. Thanks-
