Hello Jezzarino, I was checking you previous post, https://communities.intel.com/message/225888#225888
BIOS version 028 did not fix this behavior? I’m going to send this information to the engineering team. I hope they can include a fix on new BIOS version.
thanks for that. Unfortunately the latest BIOS did not resolve this issue.
I was wondering if I had received 2 faulty units or if it is a bug: hence my asking if someone else can try the above steps to reproduce the issues
Wanted to check in with you. Can you try updating your BIOS to the latest that just got posted: version 0032 at Download Center. This version includes an update to fan speed control. Then check if your problem has been resolved.
If not fixed with v0032, please provide me with the BIOS setting names you are changing and what you are changing them to. I checked my lab system and could not seem to get the same failure you have, so likely I'm not changing the same things you are.
BIOS 32 fixes the wake from sleep fan issue!! My NUC would always run the fan at full speed after coming out of sleep, even though I set it low for noise reduction. Now it comes out of sleep with no fan noise. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the input
I have tried 0032 and can report no improvement in regards to fan speed not detected
On the cooling page, if I leave control mode on auto, and change the minimum and maximum duty cycle to something like 28 and 40, upon reboot the bios does not show fan speeds, temps or voltages
If I change the control mode to manual and choose a fixed value for the fan, upon reboot it does display the fan speed, voltage, etc.
On the other hand, the fan does work properly upon resume from S3. Thanks for addressing that issue, it was driving me nuts!
Ah, now I see exactly what you are seeing. Let me check with the NUC team about this.
Glad to hear I'm not alone in this universe with this problem
Jezzarino, there is a new BIOS version 0034 that I would like you to try. Please let me know your findings.
