    D201GLY2a - Installing PCI card breaks sound

      I have the following problem that hopefully somebody is able to help with:

      Mainboard     D201GLY2a

      OS               Debian 5.0 Lenny stable

      Debian is running fine on this mainboard, including sound.

      However, as soon as I install any PCI card (to be precise I tried one network card and one isdn gateway card) in the PCI slot (either direct or via Riser-Card) the onboard SIS sound card is no longer detected and the following entries are found in the dmesg boot log:

      ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.7[C] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 18

      codec_semaphore: semaphore is not ready [0xff][0xffffffff]   --> many times

      AC'97 0 does not respond - RESET

      AC'97 0 access is not valid [0xffffffff], removing mixer.

      Unable to initialize codec #0

      ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:02.7 disabled

      Intel ICH: probe of 0000:00:02.7 failed with error -5

      sdb:<6>input: PC Speaker as /class/input/input4

      If I remove the card, the entries

      codec_semaphore: semaphore is not ready [0xff][0xffffffff] and the -5 error

      disappear and the boot log reads

      ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.7[C] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 18

      intel8x0_measure_ac97_clock: measured 52651 usecs

      intel8x0: clocking to 48000

      input: PC Speaker as /class/input/input3

      parport_pc 00:07: reported by Plug and Play ACPI

      and sound is working fine (IRQ 18 stays enabled).

      I would desparately need to get this running if possible. Any thoughts on how to further debug or what to do/try are appreciated.
