I tried to update to the latest 12.9 software from 12.8 on my HP laptop but got an error. After researching the logs it seemed to need to be run as administrator (error code 1603). I tried this and the installer says everything went fine, however the driver is not updated and the control panel app is lost. What can I do to fix this?

The version installed in your OEM computer by HP is special software preconfigured to work with all the internal components inside your system. The driver from our side is a generic driver for your system so I recommend you installing the latest driver provided by your Computer Manufacture.
