    Centrino Advanced-N 6205 and 802.11AC

    jaybravo

I will be testing Voice and Video over wireless, utilizing QoS and packet prioritization.  I have several laptops (Lenovo T510, T520, X201, X220) that have the Centrino N-6205 and N-6200 wireless LAN cards.

Will these cards along with the latest drivers, support 802.11AC connections?  Also, what should be enabled in order for this to work successfully?  I am guessing that Ad Hoc QoS Mode WMM needs to be enabled.  Anything else I should look at on the card settings?  Thanks.

Hello jaybravo, thank you for posting.

The Intel® Centrino Advanced-N 6200 and Intel® Centrino Advanced-N 6205 support 802.11a/b/g/n. The wireless standard 802.11ac was recently released and therefore older products do not supported since they were launched before this standard was developed.

Most of the QoS settings are usually available by accessing the router’s firmware interface.
