New BSP - do I need to start from scratch?

    xx

I have build my image using BSP 0.8.0, now I would like to move to 0.9.0.

Do I have to start from scratch?

Or can I copy the new BSP into my environment and rebuild?

      Has anyone done this?

      What bitbake commands are necessary?

      Many Thanks,

      Paul

I am pretty sure that it is best to start all over. I think there have been some significant changes between the two releases. Although, I have not built the 0.9.0 version yet.

I know it takes a lot of time, but luckily much of that is just in compile time. You just need to find a way to entertain yourself while it builds. xkcd: Compiling

Yes, you need to start over. The steps are mostly the same as with 0.8.0 (watch out target name changes) and are described in the BSP Build Guide.

If your host system has make version 3.82 (don't know about newer ones), you'll get an error during dmidecode package build, the fix is simple, I'll post it tomorrow when I'm on my dev machine.
