I too have an urgent need to disable XHCI via the BIOS.
This was a feature that was present in previous BIOS's but was removed for no apparent reason.
From the release notes for BIOS version 0025:
Removed [USB3.0 (XHCI mode) support] option from BIOS Setup and
enabled it by default.
Please can this be added back to the next BIOS ?
I have tried doing this a number of ways via software but cannot achieve it.
Is anyone monitoring this question?
Is there any possibility that the option to enable/disable xhci/ehci can be re-added to the NUC2820 BIOS ?
This used to be an option so I imagine would be easy to re-add and would not affect other users.
This is a major deal breaker for me, I have tried buying other devices (flatbed scanners) to resolve the issue, but the same issue exists (that would be resolved if I could disable xhci)
I appreciate your feedback on this matter. I will make sure your comment reaches the proper department for future consideration.
Thank you for taking the time to communicate this issue to us.
It's been a year by now. The Option still missing, though it's affecting quite some people. Can you please give some Information whether there will be something happening or not?
Seems a bit strange to me that an option that was already there and is common in most other bios is so hard to reactivate.
Any chance of an updated firmware with this simple, previously existing, option back in ?
It's been a long time with no firmware updates
