I am sorry to hear you are having problems but let me help you.
As you mentioned, our graphics controller currently support up to OpenGL 4 and there is not information available yet from our side if it will support OpenGL 4.4.
I recommend you checking at the following link that will provide updated information on Intel® products:
The page mentioned here Graphics — Supported Graphics APIs and Features is completely wrong.
For example for my Pentium G3420 says "No OpenCL support" and "No Intel Clear Video HD"
These are both wrong.
Because my Pentium G3420 supports OpenCL GPU v1.2 and it has Intel Clear Video HD of course .
Also it says everywhere OpenGL 4.
This is wrong too.
The OpenGL version supported right now by latest driver version is OpenGL 4.2 with a lot of OpenGL 4.3 extensions (but not all)
Probably next drivers version will include all extensions of OpenGL 4.3.
I don't know about openGL 4.4 though.
Hey NikosD, you are right. Though the drivers might only support 4.0 as core features, there might be support for newer feature as extensions. I haven't thought about this important distinction.
Where can I find an overview of supported extensions? Moreover, is there a roadmap about future driver goals concerning OpenGL?
I'm not an Intel rep, I can't say about future roadmap.
I'm just making some thoughts.
Regarding OpenGL extensions they are all here:
The processor you have uses Haswell platform meaning that it is part of the 4th generation Graphics Controllers. You can check this at the following link:
It is important to say that we have Intel HD graphics for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation. The chart on the link you provided before it shows the Intel HD Graphics 1st generation. The graphics controller HD graphics 4th generation (such as your processor) is equally to the HD Graphics 4200 in the chart.
Thanks to you for pointing this out, I will request to have the information on that article modified to avoid confusions in the future.
In regards the future roadmap, the information is not available yet until the new driver release is posted.
Once again we are sorry for the confusion but we thank you very much for the feedback.
