I have tried all of the USB examples and I could not get any of them to work correctly.
According to the release notes section 1.4.3 Intel® Galileo Release Notes any USB device with a button should be able to generate an event which can be captured. It also states the the ASCII values from the keyboard will not be correct.

I checked almost all the posted documents, except the release notes, my bad! Thanks for pointing that out chofroc. It is very clear that the board was released well before the software was ready. The success of the hardware depends primarily on the software support, either by Intel or the community outside. Unfortunately, I don't think I can proceed with my current project using this board given the current state of affairs.
I looked at the source code in the library directory. The file usb.cpp looks as if it was yanked from the developers while they were still typing in code changes from email@example.com's sources .
what usb examples? i'm hoping to get analog inputs from a usb gamepad. is there hope for me?
