My CPU is Intel core-i7 3770k with HD 4000 graphic chip, machine is running Windows 8 64 bit. Up until a few days ago, driver version on HD 4000 was 9.18.10.3257. It was then updated to 10.18.10.3345, that's when machine became unstable, with programs crashing and machine restarting out of blue. Ironically Windows Update also showed an update for HD 4000, thinking that would solve the stability problem, I updated to that driver, and driver version is now 10.18.10.3379. Unfortunately, stability problem did not improve, so my next plan of action is to revert back to 9.18.10.3257. So far that's been unsuccessful. I have uninstalled HD 4000 driver 3 times, but with each restart of computer, it's the same 10.18.10.337 driver. The strange thing is that on one of the uninstall, I checked the driver version under Device Manager before restarting the computer, and it actually showed 9.18.10.3257, but as soon as machine restarted, it's back to 10.18.3379 again. Does anybody know how to roll back driver for HD 4000? Thank you.

I am sorry to hear that have had issues with driver versions on your computer.
The computer keeps updating to the latest video driver 3379 because you have enabled Microsoft Updates. Since this is a new update the computer will always try to get the latest version.
You may try to run system restore and place your computer on an earlier time. Or, try to get version 3257 from your motherboard manufacturer's web site.

Actually I have automatic update turned off in Windows update, has been for months. I only allowed Windows update on 10.18.10.3379 because of the instability. I already tried re-installing 9.18.10.3257 by using the overwrite switch, but that did not improve the situation. My take is that 10.18.10.33xx was not completely removed, so forced re-install of 9.18.10.3257 was unhelpful. That leads us back to the same problem, I need to have a way to completely uninstall 10.18.10.33xx drivers.

I am afraid at this stage; you will need to re install the operating system to get driver version 3257 back to your system.
