Hello..
I just bought a New Sony Vaio Desktop with the Intel i7-3630qm 2.40Ghz / 3.40Ghz Processor in it.
The model of the Computer is a SVL24147CXB and Sony advertises it as having Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.40Ghz.
My question is how do I tell if it's (Processor) is operating with the Boost Technology?
Is there software I need to download from Intel to make it work or?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Steve

hi!
i think this will be helpfull to your question: "My question is how do I tell if it's (Processor) is operating with the Boost Technology? Is there software I need to download from Intel to make it work or?"
First, you can check it in your BIOS if the turbo boost is enabled or no, i'm not familiar with your system's BIOS so i cant tell you where is it exactly. Second, there is a program from intel called Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor, it is a program that has a small window that shows the current frequency of your CPU and it also tells if Turbo Boost is active or not. here's a link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19105&keyword=turbo+boost+monitor&lang=eng https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19105&keyword=turbo+boost+monitor&lang=eng
Intel Turbo Boost Technology is a great feature that keeps your system responsive, sometimes when you have multiple programs running, the system will run slow, this feature helps you avoid those things.
