Intel turbo boost switching to energy saver mode mid-game!

Whenever i am playing the game Arma 2 my game randomly drops in FPS and performance, i finally woked out that it is the turbo boost going into energy saver mode mid-game that is causing the drop in performance and when energy saver mode is not being used the game runs smoothly with no drop in performance. I was wondering if there is any way in which to solve this issue as it is making the game unplayable, this only happens in Arma 2 and not in any other game which is what is confusing me.

My specs are:

Acer Aspire V3-571G Laptop

CPU: Intel core i5-3210M Dual Core 2.5GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz processor.

RAM:8GB

GPU:NVIDIA GeForce GT630M with 2GB Dedicated VRAM

HDD:750GB

Hi daniel_24,

I am sorry to hear you are having problems but let me help you with this.

The turbo Boost is a feature that is enabled automatically based on internal algorithms and also depends on other factors such as temperature, work load, etc…

I recommend you updating the graphics driver for your system by downloading it at the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23405&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23405&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers

Besides installing the driver provided before, another good step is to update the bios and the Management Engine drivers provided by the computer manufacture.

From our side, we have a software called Intel® Processor diagnostic Tool that diagnoses every internal component inside the processor and will generate the results showing if the product passed or not the test. You can use it to know the state of the processor and it can be downloaded at the following link:

32 bit OS:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19791&keyword=processor+diagnostic+tool&DownloadType=Utilities%2c+Tools+and+Examples&lang=eng https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19791&keyword=processor+diagnostic+tool&DownloadType=Utilities%2c+Tools+and+Examples&lang=eng

64 Bit Os:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19792&keyword=processor+diagnostic+tool&DownloadType=Utilities%2c+Tools+and+Examples&lang=eng https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19792&keyword=processor+diagnostic+tool&DownloadType=Utilities%2c+Tools+and+Examples&lang=eng

I also noticed that your computer comes with the switchable graphics technology which means that it has a NVidia Graphics card so in the case that you are still having problems, I recommend you downloading the graphics driver provided by the manufacture or contacting them directly for further diagnoses or replacement if necessary.
