    laptop dell i7 issue

      hey,

      I've got some issue on my laptop - the monitor won't resume after closing the lid. (the computer is still running on background but it's not resuming).

      I've tried to get some changes on power saving menu but it won't help.

      recently I get my video driver updated (my laptop is a one week old).

      my PC:

       

      CPU Name Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz

      8 GB RAM, Windows 8.1 x64

      Intel(R) HD Graphics Family 4400, AMD RADEON HD 8850M

          Hello Nadav, besides updating the graphics driver you may also try updating other drivers and BIOS provided by the system manufacturer. Usually is advised to do a complete uninstall of the old drivers and then install the newest ones.

          Some troubleshooting steps may also help you determining the cause of the issue between operating system, drivers, and hardware:

          • Put the computer to sleep without closing the lid.
          • Test closing the lid in safe mode.
          • Test closing the lid in BIOS.

            Hey Joe,

            I've tried to update my computer besides the graphics driver, and its all the same.

            I've attention when I uninstalling the graphic (AMD 8850M) driver, the issue disappear and all working normally.

            So I understanding that the graphics driver AMD is the ISSUE. you've got some solution for me? Thanks again.

              That is a valid troubleshooting step too…

              I would escalate the issue with the system manufacturer.
