D34010WYK USB 3.0 devices do not work under Linux

    richi

I bought a D34010WYK and installed Debian 13.10 on it with Kernel 3.11. USB 2.0 devices work, but any USB 3.0 devices fail in the xhci driver that is responsible for USB 3.0.

If required I can add some more Linux specific details, but may be this problem is already known.

Upgrading to Kernel 3.12 did not help.

As the KIT has only internal USB 2.0 ports this is a major problem. I think it would have been smart to put atleast one legacy USB 2.0 port to the outside panel. This is what laptop manufactures often do.

I added the dmesq output from linux console:

As it looks the drive is properly detected as 3.0 harddisk storage but the xhci driver failes later.

How do you get the Ethernetdriver working?

I cant use Debian, because he says at install: No Ethernet driver found.

I installed it with ISO image from USB CD Drive. Ubuntu 13.10. I did not have any problems

It seems to be a problem with icy box and the USB controller. I used a sharkoon 3.0 dock and now the hardisk is detected with 3 TB and USB 3.0.
