the problem is, that
- none of Intel's actual RST AHCI drivers v12.x.x.xxxx can be used for a Windoiws XP installation (reason: the file TXTSETUP.OEM is missing) and
- none of the earlier Intel RST drivers natively do support Intel's 8-Series Chipset SATA AHCI Controllers.
Nevertheless there is a solution for you: You have to use an Intel RST driver v11.x.x.xxxx, which has been customized for being usable with Intel 8-Series Chipset AHCI systems.
You will find an appropriate F6 driver named "Universal 32bit Intel RST AHCI & RAID driver mod by Fernando" here: http://www.win-raid.com/t11f23-Modded-Intel-AHCI-and-RAID-Drivers.html
You have set my reply as being "helpful", but didn't write, that your problem has been solved.
Have you already tried to install Windows XP in AHCI mode onto your Intel 8-Series system? If yes, did you succeed or not? If you succeeded, how did you manage it?
I followed your instructions and to my disbelief... IT WORKED!!! I thank you very much and wish I could repay you somehow for your good work.
I used the universal 32bit Intel C220 driver.
i had download driver Universal 32bit Intel RST AHCI & RAID driver v188.8.131.526 mod by Fernando.
After press F6 for XP installation, there are no list display for selection intel(r) 8 series/c220 series sata ahci controller
