S3420GPLC not booting with 12GB RAM

Hi

I have a S4320GPLC out of the box, I am busy setting the system up and would like to install 12 GB RAM. According ot the Intel Memory Configurator 12GB (6 x 2GB modules) is supported but it runs at 800MHz. I have placed the RAM in the system but when I boot I get the 3 beep memory error. Once I remove modules from DIMM_A3 and DIMM_B3 the system boots. All the memory modules are exactly the same and all of them work as I have tested them individually on another system. Firmware update didn't help.

Please assist.

Thanks

Are you using UDIMM or RDIMM? If you're using UDIMM, then only 2 DIMMs per channel is supported. See chapter 3.2.4 of the board http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s3420gp/sb/CS-030742.htm Technical product specification for more details.
