eontap, the Timer1 library is already ported for Galileo. With the Galileo Timer1, you can obtain up to 1KHz granularity and also have as many timers as you want running simultaneously.
Example is in the IDE, File>Examples>Timer1
Thanks - it is terrific that you can have multiple timers out of Timer1
Hi - I cannot find Timer1 in the 1.5.3 IDE for Galileo. I looked in the libraries directory as well. Do I have to download it from another location or is there a newer version of the IDE for Galileo ?
Thanks in advance
My confusion finding TimerOne was related to IDE 1.5.3 for Galileo having two separate "libraries" directories. One is in the usual place (does not have TimerOne) and the other (with updated TimerOne) is at hardware/arduino/x86/libraries as mentioned in other postings. Probably documented in the release notes but I missed it.
