    System Volume Wrong

    mtveness

      I have a minor problem. I have a Z77 chip and two raid1 sets. My "C" drive (boot) is (2)250gig drives as array_0000 and the "D", "E", & "F" as array_0001 is (2)750gig drives. I am running IRST ver 9.6.0.1014 in Win7/32.

The program considers array_0001 my system volume but not array_0000. Array_0000 is my boot drive with the op system on it. Is there a way to fix this, or am I stuck as it is?

      Thank You

      Mark

Try updating the BIOS in your system using the file posted here:

              MSI Global – Motherboard - Z77A-G45

Then use this link to update the version of Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology installed in your system:

I updated the BIOS and IRST to the latest versions. The "C" drive is still not the system volume.

                Any other thoughts?

Just to confirm, are you seeing the same in Windows* Disk Management?

If the answer is yes, then the problem might be on what the operating system has marked as the active partition.

You might try following the steps available on the following post:

The "C" drive is the (System, Boot, Active, Crash Dump, Primary Partition). I'll look at the "Startup Repair" when I have more time. It looks a bit involved and not the safest way to go.

May I have a screenshot of that you see in Disk management in your operating system? Please post the picture here and not through a third party site.

Let me know if you get a chance to test what I have mentioned.

I have an ASROCK Z77 Extreme4 motherboard, all drivers and Intel RST updated and mine is showing not a system volume also in RST. I am including screenshot. Everything works fine for the most part but this is technically very wrong to say my Raid0 dual SSD drives are not the system volume.IntelWrongSYSvol.jpg

Thanks, that is the version I already have. I have found, it seems if I shut down completely, turn off the power to the power supply and then boot, it correctly shows the volume as a system volume. But I think it may be related to going to standby or deep sleep mode causing problems, in fact today my usb 3.0 hard drive was not recognized correctly, windows asked me to format the disk, even though it is full with almost 3tb of data. I tried a different port, it said USB device not recognized. The only way it recognized the drive correctly was to completely shut down the computer. I think this all may be related.
