i have the Problem, that my galileo does not reboot properly. Neither if I use HW Button nor via Comand line on Linux prompt. (Rs232- Connection)
The only way to reboot properly is to unplug/plug power, then it boots fine.
Doing the Linux commandline reboot i can observe the following:
- Shutdown works fine
- Rebooting machine freezes.
- Have to do power Switch reboot.
- Linux command line gives an Error (see Picture) and afterwards galileo is booting properly.
Any idea what the Problem could be or how I could check for Problems? (Are there Linux Logfiles?)
On firmware version 1.0.0 that problem goes away.
For the unfortunate newcomers who believe BSP 0.7.5 is the latest and greatest, since it is the "Official" release, Intel really owes them an errata list showing bugs which were fixed over six months ago but are broken in that release.
Two that come to mind are this reset bug, and the localization issue that says the IDE won't run if your locale is not set to English (US). If we can't actually get new official releases, at least documentation would be nice.
Firmware 1.0.0 seems to work fine - tried it myself now (SPI and SD Image) and there is no reboot problem anymore. But I did not try much else so far. Arduino sketch also works properly. BIG THANKS to AlexT_Intel - great work!!! And thanks to the advice to look on his page.
One difference I observed is, that at the end of Booting, 1.0.0 only says "Starting galileod" instead of prompting the very sketch file.
