I have

Asus Z87-A (newest bios)

i5 4750

win8 x68

intel HD 4600 is primary conected to 2x monitors

Ok i tried again five different drivers from Intel none go, all get disabled after restart, then i tried tracking down whats the cause of it and i faund there is compatibility problem with ATI catalist (13.10 and 13.11) as soon i install them, ATI driver works but intel driver stops... also playing with ATI drivers i got bunch of bsod`s due it...

So Windows 8.1 intel GPU and ATI 7950 is no go, i have 2x 7950 used only for opencl (bitcoin mining) and intel HD is primary with 2 monitors attached

PS: I am using win 8 had no issue at all with ATI+Intel combo with any driver i used so far, and i used most drivers released from ctalist 12.6 to 13.10 and almost all intel drivers

8.1 upgrade problems too. The upgrade actually dies and reverts... Try to upgrade to 8.1 and the screen goes black. Have to revert.

Tried downloading the 8.1 compatible driver (64 bit) and it says my system did not met the minimum requirements.... This is a beefy HP Envy 23 - inexcusable that they don't support this new machine from HP.

This is a really nasty bug with the black screen and there is no solution for me right now. Not good.

Please advise asap.

I think I read somewhere regarding the black screen during upgrade that you just have to wait it out? How long have you waited?

I am running Win 8.1 64bit on an ASUS Z87-Pro (running the HD4600 gpu) which was working fine with windows 8. MS released an updated driver on the 19th that corrected the issue for 3 days, but now the driver is failing again with the same error Code 31.

It would be wonderful if Intel could push a new driver into the download area!

Here's a thread on the windows community for this issue:

I have an HP Envy 17 j0000 with the i7-4900MQ and the NVidia GT470M 16GB Ram running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 After updating to Windows 8.1 and installing the latest driver from Intel I'm getting exactly the same error. Thankfully the NVidia driver is working so the machine is usable all be it limping along on a single display for now. Looks like there will be an avalanche of broken machines out there till its fixed.

I manged to fix the error, prior to upgrade I deinstaled intel and ATI driver (also used some tool to clean ATI crap)... after update to 8.1 i installed first intel beta driver 15.33.5.64.3316 by manual method with have disk... and only after that i put latest catalist 13.1 beta 6 (only driver) so far so good...

Duno whos to blame ati crap driver or intel one
