Intel HD 4000 drivers for Windows 8.1 RTM

I have tried all beta and preview and official drivers for Intel hd 4000 after installing Windows 8.1 RTM on my sony vaio laptop, and none function. The device manager shows that they have stopped working, code 43, and falls back to the basic Microsoft default graphics drivers. This prevents me from adjusting settings and using multiple monitors. When will Intel release official, tested drivers for the intel hd 4000 for windows 8.1 (64 bit)? I understand the official release is not for a few weeks, but the RTM has been made available through MSDN early. I can't imagine Intel is far off from having the drivers ready for the full release of 8.1. What's the best way to stay on top of driver updates so that I can get my multi monitor support asap?

Hi GUY_INCOGNITO,

At this point the driver we have is a BETA driver. You can try installing this driver but is not an official driver. You can get it at the following link:

In case the driver above does not work, I recommend you contacting the computer manufacturer so they can provide the custom driver for your unit.

The link provided goes to a download center page declaring "Page not found". I've tried the beta driver for the hd 4000 for the 8.1 preview from intel, version 10.18.10.3282. It does not work, states in the device manager:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Hi GUY_INCOGNITO,

Yes sorry, it seems that the driver I provided was removed from that link.

The latest BETA driver we have is the 3282 and it seems you have tested already. I would like to encourage you to provide feedback on a special community that has been created specifically for windows 8.1 preview. Here is the link:
