Cannot get an RDP connection to newly installed Intel Pro/1000 GT

I recently replaced the onboard NICs on two Dell XPS computers with Intel Pro/1000 GT network adapters. After doing so, the client was able to login, connect to the network shares, access the Internet through the network firewall and experienced an overal improvement in performance. However, I now can not access the client computers using Remote Desktop Connection an I can't ping the workstations.I was able to do both before I changed the network adapters.

The clients are running Windows XP SP3. I checked the firewall exceptions and they have Remote Desktop checked. In the adapter advanced settings -->ICMP, they have the box for local echo checked.

I am probably missing something obvious but right now I am drawing a blank. Does anyone have any ideas?
