    Core i7 with TXT?

    bdpayne

I'm looking to build a new system and would like to have the capabilities of Core i7 (specifically the latest virtualization extensions, EPT, etc... i.e., what some are calling VT-x2), along with Trusted Execution Technology (TXT).  Looking at the processor features pages, it appears that the only processors with support for TXT are the Core 2 Quad series processors.  These, of course, support VT-x but they don't have some of the newer virtualization features such as EPT.

Assuming these charts are accurate, could someone help me understand why Intel would do this?  Is there any processor available with VT-x2 *and* TXT?
