Adding more memory to your laptop will improve the performance of the system.
I recommend you contact the computer’s manufacturer so they can let you know if additional memory can be added to the system. We had seeing cases where this is not allowed.
Yes, adding more RAM will improve the performance of the integrated graphics, especially if your memory is currently working in single channel mode (i.e. you have a single 4GB stick) and after the update it begins working in dual channel mode (i.e. you upgrade to 2x4GB). This will make your memory faster and your Intel HD Graphics will definitely benefit from the faster RAM. Actually, going to dual channel memory is one of the best ways to improve the performance of Intel HD Graphics, and here are some other methods you can apply, too, if you want to get the max out of your integrated graphics:

Yes, adding RAM will improve your performance, but like what sylvia said, contact your manufacturer for more information.
However, you may still not be able to play certain games. Intel HD Graphics comes with ~384 MB of VRAM (?). You can still play games that require 384 VRAM or less, like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but you can't play games that require 384 VRAM or more, like Battlefield 3.
