Although a slightly different board (DH87MC), I am having a similar (but not exact) issue: http://communities.intel.com/message/202847#202847.
It will randomly BSOD if I have 16GB (4GB x 4) installed. I am OK with 8GB (4GB x2).
I wonder if they are related?
I have had problems with the RAM that you are using on several recent Intel boards. I had to go with the "standard height" model (KVR1333D3N9H/4G) and it seems to work better.
Hello Compucanicsbvba, thanks for letting us know about your issue. I'm going to share your experience with the Engineering team. They've been trying to recreate this problem, but they have not been able to do so.
Please check this forum for additional information. http://communities.intel.com/thread/43812

Does this mean that the Engineering Team has tested
Intel DH87RL PC with KVR16N11K2/16 memory
without any problems?
If yes, have they also tested it with 32 GB RAM
(2xKVR16N11K2/16 = 4x8 GB RAM) ?
> Patrick, which BIOS version are you using?
bios version: RLH8710H.86A.0314.2013.0410.1954
product code: BOXDH87RL
board version: G74240-400
unter topic "c't 19/13: Wünsch Dir was Sparsames"
you can find two screenshots of the bios-settings I use.
(My front fan is connected and uses the same settings as the rear fan.)
My 16GB-setup is still working, I am only using it for 3-4 hours a day.
Two times I had a strange behaviour when doing a win8 reboot:
- it looks like the os does a clean shutdown
- the monitor switches to standby
- the pc is still running
- but the monitor stays in standby
- only 6s poweroff resolves this issue for me
This problem is not reproduceable.
(I tried two more reboots, also it did not happen in the win8 installation reboots.)
Please tell me, if it is safe to install the latest bios (6/6/2013 0320).
