Create a RAID1 (mirror) in RST12.5, non-system disk without losing data

Hello,

I have an Intel ICH10R controller. The mainboard is in RAID mode. Windows was installed with the F6 drivers. I have a data storage drive full and prepared to install like model second drive. The system has a very recent option ROM and Rapid Storage Technology drivers version 12.5.

Can someone please assist in creating a mirror array? It is not clear if the data on the first drive will be retained. "Source Disk," "Retain Data" or similar options do not appear during the first steps of the creation process.

Thank you,

Ryan

"Keep the data" is not offered. It may be an oversight of the software's programmers. My drive has a RAW partition.

It is possible that such option is not available because of the RAW partition…

Was this drive part of a RAID array? How is it showing up in CTRL+I?

Joe_Intel,

The drive is brand new. The data was transferred to it a week earlier. Intel could revise their software to add a switch for /keepdata in the event disks without a standard partition table exist. I hobbled together a number of other drives, transferred the data away and created the mirror. It was a time-consuming and stressful process. I appreciate your assistance.

Thank you,

Ryan
