Screen goes black during graphics driver install on Windows 8 Pro

When I tried to install the graphics driver for my i5-4430, the screen went black and I had to use to Windows restore bring it back to normal. The same thing happened when I used the device manager to install the driver. I think I have to use Windows Update to install the driver but then Windows says that "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" was the latest driver. Do I have to change some settings on Windows Update to make it work?

Here is my system

Please provide additional details on this.

Could you please specify what video ports and cables are you using? What is the model and manufacturer of the displays you tested with?

Is there any adapter or converter being used in between?

What is the versions of the video drivers that you installed in the system?

I have tried using DVI,HDMI and VGA ports after installing the driver. It seems that when boot the computer up, only the VGA works and the screen is mostly pink. However, when I disable and then enable the graphics on the device manager, the DVI and HDMI ports work fine. The monitors I used were Philips 247E LHA and Philips 234EL. I didn't use and adapter or converter. And my driver version is 9.18.10.3165. I think there is a problem with the driver sequence when it detects for the ports connected. By disabling and enabling, it probably restarts this process and does it correctly. That's what I think is the problem. On a laptop with a core i5 w/ vpro technology, I tried using VGA to extend the display onto a monitor: Philips 234EL and the screen was pink. Anything white was pink and other colors were normal but with a pink shade on it.

Try removing all the video drivers installed. , this is done through the Control Panel, go to programs and features. Then locate any entry similar to Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (or Intel(R) HD graphics driver) and remove it. After that, use the Have disk installation instructions on this site to install the latest generic driver we provided:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033915.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033915.htm

The driver package you need to use is posted here:

You may also test the latest driver that has been provided by your motherboard manufacturer, which is posted here:
