Dell Vostro 420 with Intel 2 Quad Q8200 and G45 Chipset

      PC Model:Dell Vostro 420 with Intel 2 Quad Q8200 and G45 Chipset http://www.dell.com/us/en/business/desktops/desktop-vostro-420/pd.aspx?refid=desktop-vostro-420&s=bsd&cs=04

Would really appreciate some support and insight on some physical memory problems we are having with the new Dell Vostro 420's.

We have called DELL on this issue and they are clueless. The new Vostro 420 has 4GB of RAM installed XPPro 32bit SPK3.

Our issue is that the reported physical memory in the Vostro 420 is 3GB in system properties. After we install out our video card we drop to 1.96GB physicall memeory reported.  http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Graphics_Cards/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=A1238692

We have tried updating video drivers flashing to the latest BIOS same result.

Again Dell is clueless to why this is happening. We also have Dell Vostro 410's with the Intel 2 Quad Q6600 and G35 Chipset and we have no issues with reported memory "3.25GB reported" using this same video card.

Is there an issue with this processor and chipset that would affect physical memory allocation or conflict with installed hardware drivers?

      Please advise

      Ron Geisler
