I've got a DP43TF board with a Travan tape drive connected as the slave IDE device (the master being a DVD-ROM unit). When I try to boot it, it beeps once, shows the initial intel splash screen, then resets repeats the process over and over in a continous loop. Disconnect the tape drive and it boots fine.
I wonder if it's trying to do something to the tape drive that it doesn't expect (such as boot off it?) and then failing and so rebooting, but that's just a guess really. I have had it booting with the tape drive connected, but it seemed to be more luck than anything else.
