cannot get full screen on second monitor

I have a sharp LC- 20AD5E LCD TV which has a vga input. I am trying to connect my samsung nc10 laptop to the tv. I can get a picture but

the picture only takes up a small portion of the screen - i want it to display full screen.

i have tried downloaded the latest drivers, all the available resolutions but with no success. I have made sure the full screen option

is selected.

i read somewhere else on the forum that i should try setting the resolution to the native setting of the tv (which i believe is 1360x768 but not sure)

however this setting is not available as a resolution.

Can anyone suggest anything else i can try? Have i missed something?
