SATA 0 and 1 are what we called SATA 3 (6.0 Gb/s), therefore it could be a compatibility issue between these ports and the optical drive.
Also, you may want to check if your motherboard has the latest BIOS installed. If not, please let me know which is the BIOS version that you have in order to let you know which one you can flash on your system.
Yes, I figured that the 6G ports dont like the drive at all, hence undetected, but the behavior when connected to the 3G ports is far more puzzling. Its almost as if the drive is constantly being interrupted. Normally I would blame the drive but as I said it works perfectly on several other platforms (the closest of which is the Q75 I tried it on).
BIOS on the DH77KC is absolute latest as of this writing (0110).
The issue could be related to compatibility, so I recommend you to try other optical drive.
