These are our recommendation for this issue:
- Plug the keyboard to another USB port. Try on the USB 3.0
- If you have another regular keyboard, please test it.
- Remove the CMOS battery and leave the system without it for about an hour. Then put it back on and restart the system.http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-028780.htm?wapkw=clear+cmos+battery#datetime
Regarding the video card, I recommend you to check if there is any firmware update for it.
Removed CMOS battery as advised, this is what happened.
On first start-up a few messages came up and I am sure the first one was that it could not detect the battery and then one that said I had to reset time and date. It went into bios and reset time and date, exited saving settings and the computer restarted. I tried to re-enter bios with F2 to no avail. The second time, and this morning when I started the PC Bios does not show the F2 option on screen.
So, in short, still no fix.
This issue started after you updated the BIOS to the latest version 0559. Could you please roll back to the previous version 0553 using the recovery method?
The instructions can be found on the following link:
Please let me know.
Finally got the time to follow the bios recovery instructions. All went to plan and I was able to enter bios on the first boot, the options showed up under the intel logo and pressing F2 allowed me in, although I did notice that the bios seemed to run a second time. But, the second time i rebooted the options did not appear and I could not get into bios. Same problem as before.
I am just wondering, could the speed of the SSD be causing this.
Stirrem, when you have your OS installed on an SSD the system will be faster than when using a regular mechanical hard drive.
However, you should be able to access the BIOS page even though you are not seen the options on the splash screen.
So, please restart the system and once it is on, start pressing the F2 key continuously. You should be able to access BIOS without a problem.
