I have a Windows Vista Home Premium installation, but are unable to find any working graphics driver for the Celeron G1610 processor.
Does anybody have an idea how to get some working drivers? The standard VGA driver of windows is really not what I was looking for 😉
Thanks for any help!

Hello Kevin,
I am sorry, but the driver only reports, that my machine (MSI motherboard, 4GB of memory, G1610 processor) does not meet minimum requirements.
Vista has all service packs and updates till today, all drivers for the board are installed.
What do I wrong?
Thank you
Ulli

Hello Ulli,
Can you please post the Dxdiag report so we can check some more information about your system?
You can do the following to get the information:
Start > Run > type in dxdiag then click OK.
When it finishes, click on the Save all information button at the bottom.
Open the text file you create.
In the notepad toolbar,
Edit > Select All
Edit > Copy

Hello Kevin,
I did not install a Windows XP system to see if the driver runs then, so you now get the dxdiag from here.
The target still would be to be able to use the graphic adapter under Windows Vista Home. But Intel states that it will not support this OS, so I am not very confident anything will work.

Hello Ulli,
Based on the posted dxdiag report, the operating system installed in your computer is Windows* XP.
Please note that we have drivers available from our side for your graphics controller when using Windows* XP or Windows Vista.
For Windows* XP, you can download the drivers at the following link:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20778&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20%20Professional*&DownloadType=Drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20778&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20%20Professional*&DownloadType=Drivers
For Windows Vista, you can download the drivers at the following link:
32 bit:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22519&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20Vista%2032*&DownloadType=Drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22519&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20Vista%2032*&DownloadType=Drivers

I too am having this difficulty. I've set up a G1610 on an Asrock B75 motherboard. Intel's autoupdate app doesn't work; it just searches indefinitely. WinVista_64_152258 is the driver that shows up when searching for G1610 drivers, but I too get the "doesn't meet requirements" error message. The notes for that driver don't mention the G1610, so I assume that the driver doesn't work for that processor.
I would like to know if there is a driver for the G1610 for Vista64 or if there isn't and will never be. Vista was such a bad experience that I refuse to give Microsoft any more money for an OS, so if Intel doesn't support this processor under Vista, I'll have to switch to linux.
So, Intel experts, is there a working driver for the G1610 for Vista64?

Hello Nicknack & Ulli,
The graphics controller on this processor is one of the newest ones Intel ® released (Ivy Bridge) and due to this, I am afraid to say that there are no drivers for Windows Vista for it.
Windows 7 drivers sometimes work on Windows Vista. I recommend you trying the Windows 7 driver that can be downloaded at the following link:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22842&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22842&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers
If the driver does not work properly I recommend you contacting the motherboard system manufacturer to get their drivers.

Hi,
I know it is an old thread but I wish to know if anything change or if you (the Intel) are willing to change it. It is a bit awkward that you can get drivers for XP, 7 and 8, and Linux, but cannot for Vista. How come? It is not rocket science to make it out from 7 or XP. It is just a driver.
Moreover, my vendor claims on it's website that Vista is supported.
http://pl.msi.com/product/mb/H61MP20_G3.html# /?div=Driver&os=Vista%2064 http://pl.msi.com/product/mb/H61MP20_G3.html# /?div=Driver&os=Vista%2064
I know this may be dependent on certain cpu's but...well on product info of IVY Bridge I did not find any information regarding the driver limitation to almost anything besides Vista. I feel fooled by you guys.
Please do something with it. 7 drivers does not work for me, as it displays error code that driver could not be loaded. I spend couple of hours to get to nowhere and may need to get gpu just because it.
One more thing, you could at least explain what is the problem on your website. Like searching for the driver on the intel website brings info "vista 32 and 64 are not supported" just imagine how many "wtf" people already made. No explanation nothing. No because of no.
I am sorry for this frustration but I am it hobbyist and never expected that kind of situation....
Please respond with some update on the driver. You are to big to make such failure, but also too big to care about your customers (afair vista still has over 3% of market, more than linux, similar to 😎
Ciao,
Greg
