In fact when a fix like this is included in the BIOS update, is to support a newer processors microcode for or Spec codes (revisions).
At this point, there isn’t information about a new possible release so I would say it is not a very important update to perform but it depends on the customer decision.
I do not understand this answer - please clarify. There is no newer processor other than the i7-3770k for this z77 board is there? Are you suggesting that this is support for Haswell i7-4770k cpu? I thought we needed the new z87 boards for that chip (though I personally believe Intel should make their releases backward compatible for the last 2 chip series). It would be great to be able to simply swap in a Haswell chip for IvyBridge since they are similar anyway.
Please note that the new fix in the BIOS update for the motherboard DZ77GA-70K is to add the support for future Micro-codes.
This does not mean that the motherboard will be supporting the new coming processor generation. The updates are intended to support new Spec codes in the case that Intel® decides to create a new Spec Code or release another compatible processor with different Revision.
