CPU Upgrade

I want to upgrade current CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 @ 1.86 MHz, Socket 775 LGA, Bus Speed 266.7, rated FSB 1066.7. Motherboard Intel # D945GCF.

I want the fastest CPU that's compatible. Would upgrade motherboard, but computer is loaded with costly software.

Can someone tell me the Fastest compatible CPU?

Unfortunately, I cannot find any board D945GCF from the Intel Website. Is this an OEM board?

Note: you will find all the cpu compatible with the board, and the speed of the cpu from the compatibility list

Make sure to update the bios to the latest one as some CPUs need to have a certain bios revision to be able to work properly.

Otherwise, if your board is OEM, you will need to check with the OEM Manufacturer.

Thanks, Aryan. The mobo is indeed D945GCF, according to CPUID software. Computer is Gateway GM5446 E.
