DQ45DB mobo's dvi output giving trouble under linux

      Dear all,

I have my PC with a DQ45CB motherboard (with integrated intel graphics card 4500), a Quad Core Q9300 processor and 4 GB RAM with Linux. I have tried Opensuse 11.1 (kernel 2.6.27) and Ubuntu 9.04 (kernel 2.6.28) both 64 bits architecture and in both I get my screen to do random 1 second blanks. Monitor is a Samsung 2333HD conected via DVI, it does not matter if I use the DVI-D or the DVI-I connector. Connecting the monitor via VGA conector (plus DVI-I to VGA converter)  I don't have that problem (but I need DVI)   Curiously enough, the blank (black) screens appear quite more often If I ran GNU Chess with 3D full screen. But having compiz activated and playing with it does not increment blank's frequency.

Thanks for any tips on how to solve this annoying problem.

      Regards,

      Javier.
