          Hi there,

Before doing any steps, the very first question is which Service Pack are you using? If it is service pack 3, you will need to reinstall everything with Windows SP2.

Then install all the latest downloaded drivers in the following order:
          Chipset,Audio, Graphics, Lan etc.

If you dont have SP3, then these are steps for you to try before.

          1. Make sure that the sound is enabled in the BIOS.
          2. Go to Control Panel >> Add/Remove Program >> Check if there is KB888111 installed.
             If yes, follow these instructions.
             Website: http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-020642.htm#driversfail

          3. Check if the yellow bang hardware id is HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_7676&SUBSYS_80865F01
Try to install the driver manually by extracting the executable file, go to folder \AUD_ALLOS_6162.0_PV_IDTGUI_V153\WDM

          4. Try these steps as well

          a. Go to "Control Panel", "System", Hardware tab - "Device Manager", under Sound, video and game controllers, right-click High Definition Audio CODEC and select "Update Driver..."
          b. Choose "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and choose "Next".
          c. Check the box "Include this location in the search:" and browse to DISK1\WDM\WinXP folder from the driver package and choose "Next".
          d. XP will now install the audio driver from the INF file.

By the way, I assumed that the audio is already enabled in the BIOS.

If you have any yellow bang in the device manager, put a screenshot in your next post.

Try to use only the back panel for test, when the back panel works fine, then troubleshoot for the front panel.

Let me know how it goes.

          All the best,

          Regards,

          Aryan.

                Hi Chau,

Apparently from the Device Manager, it appears that the driver SoundMax is installed correctly.

Have you checked if on the properties for the Sound Max Integrated Audio, it says Device is enabled and this device is working properly.

Then my guess would be to try to use the Sound Max application which i think is found next to the time on the system tray.

Try to see if something needs to be enabled from the software side.

Since i have not used this software, it is a bit difficult for me to guide you where to check.

The same thing can also be enabled from the Sound Properties in the Control Panel.

I assumed that you are using the back panel sound connector not the front panel for now.

Let me know how it goes.

                Regards,

                Aryan

                  Aryan,

I have found my drivers disk and install audio driver on this but there's still error.

I have no solution to fix this now . Maybe, i take my PC to doctor.

                  Thanks for your help.

Wish you have a good weekend.

                    Hi Chau,

Last thing to try from my side:

                    Go to Control Panel

                    Remove the KB888111

                    Remove the SoundMax

                    Restart the system

                    Install the downloaded drivers again

See if in the control panel, there is the kb888111.

Are you using the back panel or front panel?

Is there any of these are working at least?

Let me know how it goes.

                    All the best,

                    Regards,

                    Aryan

                      Aryan,

                      I re-installed many times before.

But i never see KB888111 in my Control Panel.

                      I use back panel.

I think my jack is corrupted. My mainboard has been fixed before i re-installed my PC.

I think there is something wrong on it.

                      Thanks so much,
                      Chau

                        Aryan,

I have just bought a new audio card.
                        And nothing changes, no sound.

                        Do you have any idea?

                        Thanks,

                        Chau

                          Hi there,

You mean that you bought an external sound card and you will have no sound. Then definitely, there must something wrong in the audio device like speakers. Try a headphone or earphone as a test. Use only the backpanel for test.

Did you try the sound on another system to see if it works fine?

                          All the best,

                          Regards,
